Martin H. Wieland

Martin H. Wieland, age 70, passed away at his home in Blue Rapids on Friday, September 13, 2019.

Martin was born July 13, 1949, at Belleville to Curtis N. and Gunnel (Sjoholm) Wieland. 

He grew up on a farm near Morrowville and graduated with the Morrowville High School class of 1967. He had also earned an Associate’s Degree from Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina. 

Martin had worked in household sales and as a janitor. Martin loved being a grandpa and often acted like a kid when he was with his grandkids. He had a great sense of humor, although at times his sense of humor could be a bit odd.

Survivors include his six children: Clay Wieland of Blue Rapids, Shane (Brittney) Wieland of Belleville, Nicholas Wieland of El Dorado, Tyler Wieland of Salt Lake City, Utah, Clint Wieland of Cinnaminson, New Jersey and Robin Moseng of Glenside, Pennsylvania, three brothers: Richard (Joann) Wieland of Nesbit, Mississippi, David (Marjorie) Wieland of Beatrice, Nebraska, and Eric Wieland of Wellington, Colorado, four sisters: Jan (Cliff) Elder of Morrowville, Christa Prior of Washington, Ina (Jim) Maize of Spring Hill, Tennessee  and Martia Rockhold of Lindsborg, and six grandchildren.

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; John Wieland and Donald Wieland and a sister Karen L’Ecuyer.

Cremation is planned with a private inurnment at a later date.
