Wilma J. Hogan, age 83, of Waterville, passed away at her daughters home in Waterville on Monday, September 3, 2018.Wilma is the daughter of Roy L. and Lucille L. (Lillibridge) Nemechek. She was born August 12, 1935, at their family home north of Waterville. She graduated from Waterville High School in 1953. She married Clarence J. Hogan on February 28, 1954, at Fayetteville, North Carolina while he was in the US Army. For the next twenty years she followed Clarence around the country as an Army Wife. After retirement they returned home to live in Waterville.Wilma worked as a Certified Nurses Aide at Blue Valley Senior Living in Blue Rapids and for a time painted houses. She is a member of St. Monica and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Blue Rapids, where she served in the Altar Society.Survivors include her seven children; James (Susan) Hogan, Roxanne (Allen) Nugent and Patricia (Richard) Moeller, all of Waterville, Karen (Roger) Hunter of Topeka, David Hogan, of Beatrice, Nebraska, Patrick (Gayla) Hogan of Marysville and Scott (Tammie) Hogan of Columbus, Nebraska, six brothers and sisters; Lyle (Ladonna) Nemechek, Melvin (Deb) Nemechek, Donna Whitesell, Vera Walsh, Lavern “George” (Sonja) Nemechek, all of Blue Rapids and Verna Williams of Beatrice, Nebraska, and by numerous grand and great grandchildren.Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Clarence, a sister, Mable Brewer, two brothers, Donald Nemechek and Bob Nemechek, a grandson, Cory Moeller and a daughter in law Sue Hogan.Viewing is from noon to 5:00 pm, Friday, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, at St. Monica and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Blue Rapids.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 8, 2018, St. Monica and St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Blue Rapids. Father Jim Shaughnessey will be the Celebrant, Ed Henry is the Lector and Moogie Roeder will be the organist. Music includes “Here I Am Lord”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, “Bread Blessed And Broken” and “Blest Be The Lord”. Casket bearers are, John Walsh, Bryon Nemechek, Randy Hogan, Daniel Newman, Hugh Nemechek and Roy Nemechek.
