Nadine A. Edwards, age 86, of Blue Rapids, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Community Memorial Health Care in Marysville.Nadine was born August 19, 1931, at Eloy, Arizona, to Noah A. and Ella S. (Wood) Wilson. She married Billy L. Edwards, Sr. on March 31, 1953 at San Mateo, California. Nadine worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide and Med Aide in several local nursing homes. Later she and her husband Bill owned and operated the Blue Valley Café.Nadine was known as a sweet, wonderful lady and an awesome boss by her employees. Known to many as “Mom”, she had a positive influence on kids and adults alike. She was a loving person and was great with her grandkids. She worked hard in life, but enjoyed crosswords, word searches, bingo and loved to go coyote hunting.Survivors include husband Billy, her six children; Linda (Joe) Haecker of Blue Rapids, Kathryn Adkins of Waterville, David (Mary Sue) Enoch of Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas, Cindy (Arnold) Adkins of Blue Rapids, Louis Edwards of Blue Rapids and Billy Edwards, Jr. of Blue Rapids, twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, two sisters; Rosella Maxwell of Marmaduke, Arkansas and Daloris McDowell of Moore, Oklahoma.Nadine was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters: Ezra A. Wilson, WO. Jesse Wilson, Edna L. Roberts, Vester A. Wilson, Willie Marie Gilmore, Roy P. and Troy B. Wilson, Frank N. Wilson, Doris L. Short.Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Thursday, with visitation between 6:30 and 8:00 pm, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville.Funeral services are at 10:00 am, Friday, June 15, 2018, at Blue Rapids Community Center with Mr. Rod Christie officiating. Pre-recorded selections of “In The Garden” and “Amazing Grace” will be played.
