Willaim G. "Bill" Orr

Willaim G. "Bill" Orr, age 70, of Blue Rapids, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2018, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka.Bill was born March 7, 1948, at Marysville, to Charles E. and Mary T. (Lehechka) Orr. On January 2, 1968, he married Pam Walters at Washington. He joined the US Army in 1968 and served one tour in Vietnam. Bill began working for Marshall County Road and Bridge Crew in 1991, retiring on November 30, 2017.Besides being a great mechanic, Bill enjoyed going fishing with his wife and family. Taking a country cruise to look for wildlife or just enjoy the scenery. He and his wife, Pam, enjoyed going out for a nice dinner, or having the family over for a home cooked meal and lots of laughs. Bill had many joys in his life, but the most important was family.Survivors include Bill’s wife Pam, their four daughters; Misty (Scot) Tormondson of North Platte, Nebraska, Michelle (Ron) King of Lacey, Washington, Melanie (Jason) Hemry of Blue Rapids and April (Jacob) Belcher of Blue Rapids, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.Bill was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Deanna Fitzgerald.Celebration of Life services are at 2:00 pm, Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville. Military Honors will follow the service.Cremation is planned with a private inurnment at a later date.Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, and may be sent in care of the funeral home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
