Jana L. Jenkins, age 56, of Waterville, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, March 12, 2018.Jana was born January 16, 1962, at Manhattan, to Charles “Charlie” L. and Paulie K. (McClure) Hagedorn. She graduated from Linn High School in 1980 and attended the International Travel and Tourism School in Topeka. She worked several years in the travel and tourism business then worked as a sales representative for M&S Electronics in Barnes.Jana was a person who loved to laugh and found fun in many things. She enjoyed cruising the country and fishing. She loved being outdoors and working on the farm with her family. When she wasn’t doing that, you could find her mowing lawns in the summer. Jana was always helping her sisters with anything they needed, from watching her nieces and nephews to helping with daily tasks. She found her pride and joy in watching her three grandsons “The Bodine Brothers” in the summer. Jana was very selfless, always putting others before herself and was a strong person of faith.She is survived by her longtime friend and companion Daryl Newhart, her parents Charlie and Paulie Hagedorn of Barnes, her two children; Sheree (Kenny) Weaver of Barnes and Levi Jenkins of Waterville, two sisters; Lynn (Brad) Roepke of Waterville and Dene’ (Mark) Johnson of Washington, and by three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.Memorial services are at 2:00 pm, Friday, March 16, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Waterville, with Pastor Debby Dick officiating. Music is to include a congregational hymn of “Amazing Grace” accompanied by organist Beverly Hedke. Other music is to include a pre-recorded selection of “Because He Lives”.A private inurnment will be held at Maplewood Cemetery, west of Barnes on a later date.Memorials are suggested to either the Waterville United Methodist Church or to Habitat For Humanity, and may be sent in care of the funeral home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
