Katie J. Pierson

Katie J. ”Coot” Pierson, age 34, of Manhattan, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2020, at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, after a short illness.

Katie was born November 11, 1986, at Marysville to John R. and Rhonda R. (Swearingen) Pierson.

She graduated from Valley Heights High School in 2005 and from Crum’s Beauty College in 2006. She worked as a Beautician for several years after that at Great Clips in Manhattan. 

She was a stay at home mom. Katie was in independent person who was not afraid to share her opinions but in a loving and often funny way. 

Survivors include her mom Rhonda Pierson of Blue Rapids, her son Raylan Pierson and her significant other Jordan Baker of Manhattan as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Preceding Katie in death was her father John Pierson and her brother Jeremy Pierson.  

Visitation will be from between 6:30 and 8:00 pm, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville on Tuesday.   Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at Prospect Hill Cemetery North of Blue Rapids, with Mr. Rod Christie Officiating. Casket Bearers are Garrison Bargdill, Shannon Swearingen, Dan Swearingen, Derrick Swearingen, Dan Engle and David Murk. Burial will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery.
