Barbara Ann Wyant

Barbara Ann Wyant, age 65 of Riley, Kansas, died Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan. She was born on November 24, 1948 at Corpus Christi, Texas, the daughter of Raleigh Edward and Beulah Evelyn (Sikes) Williams. She was married to Kenneth Wayne Smith Sr., he preceded her in death. On May 6, 2006, she was married to James Harry Wyant. Barbara had worked as an insurance liaison for Providence Hospital in Waco, Texas and for EMSI before moving to Kansas in 2005. She is survived by her husband James Wyant of the home in Riley, Kansas; one son, Kenneth Wayne Smith Jr. and wife Joye of Randolph, Kansas; one daughter, Debra Kay Wheeler and husband Daniel of Riley, Kansas; one step son, Darin Willard of Riley, Kansas; three step daughters, Genie Burch and husband Ben, and Kathy Powell and husband Eric both of Waco, Texas and Tammy Jones of Westmoreland, Kansas; one brother, Raleigh Williams and wife Sandra of Sugarland, Texas; one sister, Myrna Smith and husband Howard of Richmond, Virginia; and twelve grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, James Edward Smith in 1998. A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Crossroads Baptist Church in Riley, Kansas, with Pastor David Van Bebber officiating. A memorial has been established for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
