Robert “Bob” Mitchell Culbertson, age 67 of Clay Center, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.
He was born on February 4, 1948 in Mancelona, Michigan, the son of Robert and Lucille (Moore) Culbertson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1971 until 1973 as a refrigeration mechanic. He was a foreman for a heating and air company, worked for General Motors and after his retirement, drove the bus for Clay Center Headstart. He fished all the the time with his best friend, George and enjoyed the outdoors and working in his garage.
He is survived by his companion, Amy Fletcher of Clay Center; one son, Rob Kibenski and wife of North Carolina; two daughters, Christina Caniff and husband Rob of Gainseville, Florida and Jodi Culbertson and husband Gerald of Killeen, Texas; two step daughters, Victoria Fletcher and companion Theresa Hammond of Concordia and Serria Fletcher of Clay Center and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Culbertson; one son, Barry Kibenski and many brothers and sisters.
Cremation is planned with services at a later date.
A memorial has been established for the Clay Center Headstart. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
