Connie Wharton

She was born on November 4, 1951 in LaCrosse the daughter of Harold Dean and Mary Jane (Johnson) Dalton.

On June 6, 1971 in Bison, she married Lyle Douglas Wharton.  He survives of the home.

Connie worked as a bookkeeper in accounting for department and hardware stores.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Clay Center and Job’s Daughters International.  She was an avid sewer and reader and enjoyed traveling.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Staci Smith of Houston, Texas and Stephanie Lagerman and husband Todd of Riley; two grandchildren, Lily and Logan Lagerman of Riley; two brothers, Jerry Dalton and wife Rhonda of Wichita and Robert Dalton and wife Mary of Bison, and one sister, Lonnie Call of Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Terry Dalton and Jimmy Dalton, and one sister, Norma Giesick.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating.

There will be a gathering for family and friends after the service at the Clay Center Masonic Lodge, 2317 7th Street, Clay Center, KS.

Memorials may be made to HIKE (Hearing Improvement Kids Endowment Fund) and St. Jude Children's Hospital.  Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
