Delores M. Hamilton, age 100, of Barnes, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Community Memorial Health Care in Marysville.
Delores Hamilton was born on April 10, 1924 at Bremen, Ks. to Alfred and Martha (Drinkgern) Koeneke. She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bremen on April 27, 1924. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School for 8 years and was confirmed on April 10, 1938. Delores married Tim Hamilton on September 4, 1955, at Immanuel Lutheran in Bremen. After their marriage they joined Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Greenleaf, where they remain members until transferring their membership to heaven. Tim transferred his membership on October 25, 2006.
She worked on her parent’s farm, and in the homes of Judge McLaughlin and Dr. J.W. Randell of Marysville, until she married Tim. Delores and Tim lived and farmed north of Barnes, Ks. until they retired. During their married years they traveled to all of the lower 48 states. Delores continued to live on the farm until she suffered a fall in October of 2023. She then became a resident of Cambridge Place Marysville, Ks.
Delores celebrated her 100th birthday with an open house at Kloppenberg Center, Hanover, Ks to which many relatives and friends attended. She enjoyed visiting with each and every one. She enjoyed getting together for birthdays and family celebrations, playing cards, and looked forward to going to Ricky’s Café 3 times a week for dinner.
Delores is survived by her nieces and nephews: Janet Pralle of Marysville, Steven (Ruth) Pralle of Odell, Nebraska, Larry (Joan) Pralle of Herington, and Leon (Tammy) Pralle of Odell, Nebraska, great nieces and nephews: Travis (Heather) Pralle, Stacy (Dustin) Minge, Jacob Pralle, Landon Pralle and Garrett Pralle.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Martha, her husband Tim, and a sister and brother in law, Elvenor and Victor Pralle.
Viewing for Delores will be from noon to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 20, 2025, at Christie-Anderes Funeral Home Waterville, where her family will receive guests at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:30 pm.
Funeral services are planned for 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church south of Greenleaf with Pastor Randy Jahnke officiating. Congregational hymns will include “Now The Light Has Gone Away”, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” and “My Course Is Run”, accompanied by Jarred Hatesohl. Casket Bearers are Steve Pralle, Larry Pralle, Leon Pralle, Dustin Minge, Travis Pralle, Landon Pralle. Honorary Bearers are Jacob Pralle and Garrett Pralle. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery, west of Barnes.
