Derek Lee Buell, age 44 of Westmoreland, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at his home.
He was born on January 24, 1972 in Portland, Oregon, the son of Clinton Otis and Shari Lynn (Shafer) Buell. He graduated from Blue Valley Randolph High School in 1991.
On June 11, 2005 in Olsburg, he was married to Valerie Kay Miller. She survives of the home.
He had been a sales representative for Midland Exteriors and NZone Sportswear and coached softball for many years. He was a member of the Olsburg Lutheran Church and enjoyed going to the lake and boating.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kayla Boltz-Buell and Laiken Buell, both of Westmoreland; his mother, Shari Holt and husband Dan of Olsburg; his father, Clinton Buell and wife Kim of Keller, Texas; two sisters, Donica Nelson and husband Tom of Olsburg and Darnell Vargo and husband Rich of Manhattan and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephew, aunts, uncles and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 1, 2016 at the Olsburg Lutheran Church with Rev. Keith Wiens officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Sunday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6:00 P.M. Sunday. Burial will be in the Olsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Derek Buell Memorial Fund to be designated for his children’s education fund. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
