Dorothy Jean Johnson

Dorothy Jean Johnson, age 78 of Riley, Kansas, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Leonardville Nursing Home. She was born on February 1, 1935, on the family farm east of Riley, Kansas, the daughter of Oren and Grace (Jahnke) Morris. Dorothy drove a school bus for the Riley County School District. She was a member of the Riley Presbyterian Church and was an excellent cook and seamstress. On October 2, 1959, at Cairo, Illinois, she was married to Harold Herman Johnson. He survives of the home. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Kurt Johnson of Wichita, Kansas and two sisters, Diana Davies and husband Dale of Wamego, Kansas and Donna Stauffer of Yates Center, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daryl Morris. A private memorial service was held on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. A private family burial will be at a later date in the Riley Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Meadowlark Hospice. Memorial contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
