Evelyn Lenora Pfaff Lawson, age 88 of Leonardville, Kansas died Monday, September 29, 2014 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.
She was born on September 14, 1926 at Leonardville, Kansas, the daughter of Charley and Ruth (Seagren) Nelson. She graduated from Leonardville High School.
She was married to Foster Pfaff on September 23, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1985. She later married Earl Lawson. He preceded her in death in 2001.
Evelyn worked for the Sikes Store in Leonardville and was a cook at the Leonardville Nursing Home. She was a member of the Walsburg Lutheran Church. She enjoyed playing cards with her grandchildren, bingo and putting together puzzles.
She is survived by one son, Charles Pfaff and wife Vicki of Leonardville; one daughter, Beverly Bolinger and husband Gerald of Chanute; seven grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her sister, Pearl Johnson; a granddaughter, Kim Bergman and a great grandson, Blaine Audiss.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at the Walsburg Lutheran Church with Pastors Gordon Sandquist and Kevin Larson officiating. Music was furnished by Rhonda Baer and Justin Bergman. Pallbearers were John Bergman, Justin Bergman, Matt Pfaff, Connor Knorr, Max Knorr, Alex Knorr and Neil Pfaff. Burial was in the Walsburg Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Leonardville Nursing Home. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral in Riley, Kansas.
