Harold Lee Ray, age 76 of Riley, passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.
He was born on October 26, 1940 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, the son of Fred and Hattie Lee Ray.
On December 31, 1978 in Bel Air, Maryland, he was married to Linda Sue Hutton. She survives of the home.
Harold served in the U.S. Army, retiring in 1993 as Master Sergeant. Following his retirement he was a handyman, who could fix anything. He was an avid reader and his favorite author was Stephen King. He enjoyed watching the Walking Dead television show and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert Lee Ray and Cindy of Bethalto, Illinois and Alvin Ray of Riley; two daughters, Jeanne Schantz and Brian of Herington and Kelly Gonzalez of Texas; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Norma Jewell and Doris Mann.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 12, 2016 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley with Rev. Bille Eisele officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial with Full Military Honors will be in the Riley Cemetery.
Memorials have been established for Madonna Rehab Center in Lincoln, Nebraska and U.S.D. 378 Riley County Schools. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
