Jerry Lee “Doc” Leopold, age 62 of Clay Center, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at Medicalodge of Clay Center.
He was born on December 29, 1952 in Colby, the son of Dale Mellville and Linnie Irene (Gilbert) Leopold.
Doc was an optometrist in McPherson and volunteered at McPherson Hospital Auxillary and was on the Board of Directors for Multi Community Diversified Services. He was a lifetime member of the Sons of the American Legion, Elks Lodge, Kansas Optometric Association, American Optometric Association and enjoyed bowling and golf.
He is survived by his significant other of 20 years, Ronda Llewelyn-Bush of Clay Center, two cousins, David Leopold and wife Jan and Mary Welshhon and husband Joe, both of Hoxie and the Llewelyn family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at the Clay Center United Methodist Church with Pastor Ryan Lynch officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Tuesday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday. Burial will be in the Bala Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Child Welfare Foundation. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
