Jerry Schwartz, age 83 of Randolph, Kansas, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.
He was born on June 17, 1932 in Clay Center, the son of Dale and Marjorie Elizabeth (Stafford) Schwartz. He graduated from Randolph High School.
On April 8, 1951 at the Garrison Methodist Church, he was married to Marlene Kershaw. She survives of the home.
He was a farmer and stockman in the Mayday community where he farmed the original farm that was homesteaded in 1860. He was a member of the Kansas Farm Bureau and Kansas Livestock Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jean Berstler and husband George of Randolph and Jan Dreith and husband Jon of Randolph and five grandchildren, Jessica Berstler, Jennifer Falley, Emily Hallier, Alan Dreith and Nicole Schwartz.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Dave Schwartz.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Mayday Cemetery, northwest of Randolph with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Thursday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
