Jesse William Rowland, age 69 of Marysville, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at the Frankfort Community Care Home.
He was born on December 3, 1946 in Pawnee City, Nebraska, the son of Clyde and Belle (Jones) Rowland.
He joined the Marines on March 10, 1966 and served until March 8, 1968 where he left as a Sgt. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Presidential Unit Citation and Rifle Marksman Badge.
After his service, he became an over the road truck driver for many years. He enjoyed working as a mechanic and loved to tinker with cars. He was a big fan of NASCAR.
He moved to Marysville in 1999 and loved it there.
He is survived by his sister, Shirley Wohler of Riley; his beloved dog, Missy Mae; his son, Kurt Sinkler of Valentine, Nebraska; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dorothy Holmberg and one brother, Glenn Rowland.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 13, 2016 at the Randolph Fancy Creek Cemetery with Pastor Susan Bantz officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Thursday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
A memorial has been established for the Jesse Rowland Memorial Fund. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
