Charles James “Jimmy” Christiansen, age 56 of Randolph, passed away Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House.
He was born on June 16, 1959 in Princeton, New Jersey, the son of Christian and Mildred Audrey “Dolly” (Perrine) Christiansen. He graduated high school in Hightstown, New Jersey in 1977. In 1984 and 1985, he went to VoTech college for custom monuments.
In 1987, he married Diane Sutphen, they later divorced. Also in 1987, he started his own monument business in Hightstown until 2004. He then followed his dream, love and passion for Kansas and moved to Randolph. In 2005, he bought the Randolph Motel and owned and operated it until his time of death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and most of all his time with his dog Chester.
He is survived by his mother, Dolly Christiansen of Cranbury, New Jersey; one brother, Christian Christiansen, Jr. of Cranbury, New Jersey; one sister, Jennifer Nielsen of North Carolina and one niece and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his father, Christian Christiansen in 2012 and one nephew.
Cremation is planned with a memorial service to be held in New Jersey at a later date. The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley is handling the arrangements.
