JoAnn McIntosh, age 66 of Manhattan, Kansas, died Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan.
She was born on June 28, 1947 at Chadron, Nebraska, the daughter of Leo Henry and Ruth Elizabeth (Reece) Kistler.
JoAnn was a library clerk for U.S.D. 383 and worked at Northview Elementary for over 20 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Manhattan. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and most of all, caring for her grandchildren.
On October 5, 1977 she was married to Vernon D. McIntosh. He survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Troy McIntosh and wife Candice of Manhattan, Kansas; one daughter, Amy Murphey and husband Amiel of Centennial, Colorado; two brothers, Tracy Kistler and wife Kathie of Guymon, Oklahoma and Kasey Kistler and wife Trudy of Ashby, Nebraska; one sister, Tammie Dubbs and husband Troy of Ashby, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Tanner McIntosh, Lilliana McIntosh, Maggie Jo Murphey, Miles Murphey and Peyton Jo McIntosh and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held from 4 to 6:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Manhattan. A private family inurnment will be held at the Kansas Veteran’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the JoAnn McIntosh Memorial Fund to support book purchases for U.S.D. 383 in JoAnn’s name. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home, P.O. Box 176, Riley, Kansas 66531.
