John Noonan

John Edward Noonan, age 75 of Topeka, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, at his home.

He was born on June 28, 1948, in Bemidji, Minnesota, the son of William James and Jeanette Marie (Kallstrom) Noonan.

He married Margaret Jane Cook on December 6, 1970.  They later divorced and maintained a lifelong friendship.

John was a taxi driver and enjoyed tinkering with electronics, computers, and mechanical work. 

He is survived by two daughters, Amy Tibbitts of Kansas City, Missouri and Melissa Noonan of Topeka; one son, John Noonan of Linwood; one stepdaughter, Maggie Sweet of Topeka; one adopted son, William Noonan of Lawrence; one stepson, James Thornton of Maryland; one brother, Paul Noonan of Michigan; one sister, Laverne Kennedy of Fargo, North Dakota; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Noonan, Taylor Noonan, Joey Crowe, Shelby Noonan, Sabrina Noonan, Elizabeth Varelman, Townsend Tibbitts, and Novella Tibbitts. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Patrick Noonan, and eight siblings, Lillian Noonan, Delores Noonan, Douglas Noonan, George Noonan, Darlene Noonan, Dennis Noonan, Joann Noonan, and Wilma Noonan.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Riley Cemetery.

The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
