Joyce Marie Christensen, age 74 of Leonardville, Kansas passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.
She was born on October 25, 1940, in Fenwick, Michigan, the daughter of William C. and Marjorie Grace (Frost) Loper.
On August 30, 1959 at Bridal Cave in Camdenton, Missouri, she was married to Jimmie L. Christensen. He survives of the home.
Joyce was a homemaker who loved spending time with her husband and family. She enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was a member of the V.F.W. and attended church at the nursing home.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Danny Christensen of Leonardville; one daughter, Deana Currey of Riley; one sister, Mary Lou Hoxie of Belding, Michigan; six granchildren; seven great grandchildren; two nieces, Jeanice Breimayer and Josolyn Broughton, both of Michigan and many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Tuesday, where the family will receive friends from 6 - 7 P.M. Tuesday evening. Burial will be in the Veteran’s Cemetery at Fort Riley, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the Huntington Disease Hereditory Neurological Disease Center. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
