June Barnes, age 71 of Randolph, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at the Mercy Regional Health Center in Manhattan.
She was born on June 1, 1943, at Randolph, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest Homer and Thelma Mae (Furry) Boles.
She worked as a school cook for the Blue Valley Randolph school district for 17 years, retiring in 2009. She loved Elvis Presley and knew anything and everything about the game of tennis. She enjoyed baking and cooking and was wonderful at them.
She is survived by two sisters, Lucille Millburn and Francis of Colfax, Iowa and Elnore Carty and Fred of Randolph; nine nieces and nephews, Carl Jr., Dean, Glenn, Katherine, Karen, Patricia, Matthew, Kim and Tammy and her special family, Scott and Stacey Mahaffey of Riley and their girls, Kiane and Kallie Jo.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Carl Boles and one sister, Carol Boles.
A gathering for a Celebration of Life service will be from 7 - 8:00 P.M. Friday, September 12, 2014 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
A private burial will be at the Randolph Fancy Creek Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Blue Valley Randolph School District. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral in Riley.
