Kimberly Kaye Bulk, age 59 of Riley, passed away Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at her residence.
She was born on October 18, 1958 in Manhattan, the daughter of Kermit O’Dell and Edna May (Wurzburger) Peterson. She graduated from Riley County High School in 1976.
On April 2, 1977, she was married to Vern R. Bulk at the First Lutheran Church in Manhattan. He survives of the home.
Kim was a Public Service Administrator for KSU Housing and Dining Services for over 30 years. Following her retirement, she worked for the last few years as a Customer Representative for Riley County Public Works. She was a member of the Walsburg Lutheran Church, Silver Creek Beneficiary Club and Prairie Star Quilt Guild. She enjoyed quilting, stamping, flowers and gardening. She also loved all the animals the family raised through the years, in particular her favorite cattle dog, Mattie.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her mother, Edna Peterson of Manhattan; her daughter, Lindsay Shorter and husband Morgan of Beaumont; her sister, Rhonda Lund and husband Greg of Manhattan and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Kermit Peterson. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at the Walsburg Lutheran Church with Rev. Keith Wiens officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Walsburg Lutheran Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Walsburg Lutheran Church and may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
