Lilyan Doris Oman, age 94 of Leonardville, passed away Friday, July 10, 2015 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.
She was born on July 21, 1920 at Leonardville, the daughter of Milton and Mabel (Berggren) Johnson. She attended the Fairview Grade School and graduated from Leonardville High School in 1938. She worked as a clerk in the Farmers Union Grocery Store after graduation until she married Willard Oman on February 14, 1942 at the Assaria Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death in 2003.
She was a member of the Walsburg Lutheran Church where she served on the church council, was a Sunday school teacher and was active in the women’s organizations.
She is survived by two sons, Price Oman of Cary, North Carolina and Dwight Oman and wife Karen of Keller, Texas; one brother, Willard Johnson of Leonardville; one sister, Elma Pfaff of Leonardville; two grandchildren Dana Williams and husband Wes and Jeff Oman and wife Dorothy May and five great grandchildren, Wade, Riley, Reese and Wyatt Williams and Levi Oman.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the Walsburg Lutheran Church with Rev. Keith Wiens and Rev. D. Erich Schwartz officiating. Private family inurnment will be in the Walsburg Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Leonardville Nursing Home. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
