Marvin Wesley McClain, age 80 of Olsburg, Kansas passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan.
He was born on October 14, 1934, in Junction City, Kansas, the son of Ray W. and Alice Eleanor (Sautter) McClain and graduated from Junction City High School.
On October 3, 1954 in Norton, Kansas, he was married to Patricia Lea Davis. She preceded him in death in 2005.
Marvin was a self employed plasterer, aircraft and car mechanic and drove a school bus for the Blue Valley-Randolph school district. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie #2468 in Manhattan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time at the lake with his family water skiing, coaching Pee Wee softball, watching his grandchildren play sports and his bus kids.
He is survived by two daughters, Debra McClain-Williams and Kent of Olsburg and Kimberly Shippy and Jeff of Woodbine; one sister, Judith McClain of Leonardville; four grandchildren, Callie Penner (Cody), Shelby Berggren, Harlie Berggren and Jacey Shippy; three great grandchildren, Chance Penner, Camdyn Penner and Laitynn Kill; a great nephew, Chad Blockcolsky and Amy of Junction City and many other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in deathy by one sister, Bonnie Blockcolsky and a nephew, Mitch Blockcolsky
Cremation is planned with private family services at a later date. The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
