Merlin Charles Geisler, age 80 of Leonardville, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan, Kansas.
He was born on January 6, 1934 in Alma, Kansas, the son of Henry and Ida Biesenthal Geisler.
He was married to Doris Butler on August 5, 1956, they later divorced. He then married Carol J. Peck on June 23, 1979. They both preceded him in death.
Merlin was an electrician. He was a member of IBEW Local 226 Electrical Union and a community handyman that was considered a jack of all trades.
He is survived by three sons, James Geisler and Alice of Leonardville, Thomas Geisler and Pam of Alma, Jeffrey Geisler and Tracy of Leonardville; ten grandchildren, Kurtis Geisler, Joe Geisler, Lindsay Dickerson, Trevor Geisler, Kaye Rippe, Jason Lucas, Justin Peck, Kayla Peck, Connor Peck and Jordan Peck; four great grandchildren, Emery Geisler, Cody Geisler, J.J. Lucas and Wyatt Lucas; two sister in laws, Dorothy Geisler and Henrietta Geisler, both of Alma; two step children, Rodger Peck and Diana of Minneapolis and Robin Scanlan and Tim of Manhattan and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Wayne Geisler; two daughters, Kathleen Diane Geisler and Jenneanne Rae Geisler; four brothers, Clarence Geisler, Art Geisler, Charles Geisler and Walter Geisler; one sister, Laura Geisler Theel and a nephew, Dan Geisler.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Monday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7 until 8:00 P.M. Monday. Burial will be in the Riley Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Good Shepherd Hospice House. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral in Riley, Kansas.
