Milton Arganbright

Milton Dale Arganbright died on February 18, 2025, at Villa St. Francis Hospice in Olathe.

He was born on January 6, 1942, to Oren Arganbright and Alice (Shaw) Arganbright. He received Baptism on May 21, 1960, at Most Pure of Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Topeka at the age of 18. Milton’s religious life began on that day and his life was centered on his faith from that day forward.

He received his Bachelor of Arts with a major in Sociology from St. Benedictine College in Atchison. He then taught at the Benedictine Military School in Savannah, GA, St. Johns in Salina, and at Valley Heights in Waterville. When he lost his eyesight, he was advised to stop teaching. Milton then became the Religious Coordinator at St. Johns in Lawrence and at Sacred Heart in Ottawa. He received his Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas, and his PhD in Psychology from Catholic University in Washington, DC. Milton completed extensive studies at the Menninger Clinic on grief and death under Sister Mary Cerny. For 30 years he counseled clients at his private practice in Lawrence.

When he was 26, he traveled to Europe. It was on this trip that he was introduced to Little Brothers of the Lamb. Throughout the remainder of his life, Little Brothers of the Lamb and Little Sisters of the Lamb held a special place in his heart, and he spent countless hours in fellowship with them. He was honored to hold vigil at numerous deathbeds over the years. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many.

Milton leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories. His compassionate and gentle demeanor were felt by all who knew him. He is survived by his brothers, Robert Arganbright (Kay) of Woods River, IL, Francis Arganbright (Carolyn) of Waterville, and Jim Brady (Kathy) of Emporia, as well as two nieces and families and three nephews and families.
