Mina Alice Glanzer, age 96, formerly of Riley, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Hickory Pointe Healthcare in Oskaloosa, Kansas.
She was born on January 31, 1920 on a farm east of Leonardville, the daughter of Andrew and Edna (McDonald) Hohman. She graduated from Leonardville Rural High School in 1938.
She was married to Harold L. Glanzer on December 21, 1938 at Barnes, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 8, 1997. They lived across the Blue River east of Stockdale. After the flood in 1941, they moved to the farm east of Riley in 1943.
Mina was a farm wife wife and homemaker who loved spending time with family. She enjoyed tending her flowers and doing farm chores, attending livestock auctions, horse shows, parades and KU sports.
She is survived by one son, David Glanzer and Linda of St. George; one daughter, Diane Roudybush of St. Mary’s; five grandchildren, Jennifer Hill, Shelly Aarstad, Jodie Grimes, Andy Glanzer and Anna Griesbaum; 12 great grandchildren, Michael Parker, Kelsey Parker, Ashten Anderson, Tanner Aarstad, Trinity Aarstad, Kyle Grimes, Kendalll Grimes, Jackson Glanzer, Layne Grimes, Kamrie Grimes, Chayse Griesbaum and Caliah Griesbaum; two step great children Keagan Laflin and Kayla Malbrough; sisters in laws, Helen Glanzer, Eileen Pacha and Ada Glanzer; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Glanzer in 1985 and her siblings, Dessie Bevitt, Julius Hohman, Geneva Kunze and Vernon Hohman
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until service time on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Grandview Mill Creek Cemetery, northeast of Riley.
A memorial has been established for the Riley County Humane Society. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
