Nilwon “Nick” Dale Kraushaar, age 84 of Frankfort, Kansas, died Sunday, March 30, 2014 at the Frankfort Community Care Home.
He was born on October 24,1929 at St. George, Kansas, the son of Julius Nilwon and Marjorie (Carley) Kraushaar. He graduated from Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and a MBA.
On March 4, 1954, in Riley, Kansas, he was married to Donna Rose Sinn. She survives of the home.
He was a school superintendent for Plainville, Southeast of Saline, West Franklin, Frankfort and Centralia school districts. He was a member of the Frankfort United Methodist Church, Lions Club, Rotary International, American Legion and Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, traveling and attending K-State football games.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Kenneth Kraushaar and wife Deb of Baldwin City, Keith Kraushaar and wife Rita of Riley and Steven Kraushaar and wife Deborah of Marysville; one daughter, Kathleen Stafford and husband Bill of Fairway; one brother, Garry Kraushaar and wife Lois of Havensville; seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, J.D. and Kenneth Kraushaar and one great grandson, Phoenix Wise.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, April 5, 2014 at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley with Rev. Norma Jeane Miller officiating. Respect calls may be made anytime Friday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6:30 - 8:00 P.M. Friday evening. Burial will be in the Riley Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the American Diabetes Association. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley, Kansas.
