Price Ward Oman, age 80 of Leonardville, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the Leonardville Nursing Home.
He was born on October 2, 1943, in Clay Center, the son of Willard Price and Lilyan Doris (Johnson) Oman.
Price graduated from Riley County High School. Following high school, he graduated from Kansas State University and then received a master’s degree from Purdue University.
He was a programmer for IBM and developed a talking cash register. He was a member of the Drum and Bagpipe band and enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and crossword puzzles. He lived in Poughkeepsie, New York and later moved to Cary, North Carolina all while working for IBM.
He is survived by his brother, Dwight Oman and wife Karen of Keller, Texas; one niece, Dana Williams and husband Wes; one nephew, Jeff Oman and wife Dorothy May, and seven great nieces and nephews, Wade, Riley, Reese, Wyatt, Levi, Gus, and Waylon.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held later this fall in the Walsburg Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Walsburg Lutheran Church and left in care with the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
