Raymond Hass

Raymond Paul Hass, of Blue Rapids, died October 19, 2024 at Community Memorial Healthcare. Ray was born January 5, 1945 in Jamestown, North Dakota, to Paul and Tillie (Stroh) Hass. 

He is survived by his wife Susan (Musil) of the home, daughters Kimberly Deurwaarder (Dan) of Battle Ground, Washington, and Mandi Hass (Jeff) of Napa, California. He had two grandchildren Jacob and Mickenzie. He is also survived by a sister Noreen Goss (Ron) of Longmont, Colorado, and a nephew Steve Goss of Seattle Washington.

Ray graduated in 1963 from JR Rogers High School in Spokane WA. He moved to Oregon where he met Susan. They were married in 1989 after moving to Manhattan, KS. He established a furniture stripping and refinishing business there and later moved it to Blue Rapids. He is past Chamber of Commerce president and was instrumental in bringing the Holm log cabin to town. He was a member of New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Blue Rapids until the time of his death. 

A memorial service is planned for 11:00 am, Monday, October 28, 2024, at New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Blue Rapids, with Pastor Jacob Schmitz officiating. Julie Popejoy will be the musician. Music will include congregational hymns of “The King Is Coming” and “Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus” and a solo of “Give Me Jesus” sung by Julie Popejoy.

Memorials are suggested to New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church - Missions Fund, and may be sent in care of Christie-Anderes Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
