Shirley Schurle

Shirley Rose Schurle, age 88 of Manhattan, passed away Friday, November 10, 2023, at Via Christi Village in Manhattan.

She was born on October 12, 1935, in Manhattan, the daughter of Darrell and Rose (Riniker) Russell.

She married George Lyman Schurle on February 24, 1954.

She worked along with her husband as owner and operators of Schurle’s Water Conditioning.  She was a member of the Sedalia Community Church and enjoyed being outdoors working in her flower garden.  Shirley loved attending her grandchildren’s activities and K-State sporting events.

She is survived by her husband, Lyman Schurle of Manhattan; four sons, DeWayne Schurle and wife Julie of Manhattan, David Schurle of Riley, Darrell Schurle and wife Lisa of Manhattan, and Jamie Schurle of Colorado; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Jim Russell; two sisters, Sally Warren and Francis Fugate, and one grandson, Christopher Schurle.

A Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on November 27, 2023, at the Sedalia Community Church Annex.  Casual attire is recommended with K-State attire encouraged.

A private family inurnment will be in the Valley View Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the Sedalia Community Church and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
