Steven Charles Hoard, age 46 of Randolph, passed away at his home on Monday, February 9, 2015.
He was born on February 14, 1968 in Concordia, Kansas, the son of Dennis Charles and Carolyn Mae (Begnoche) Hoard.
On February 12, 2000 at the Sedalia Community Church, he was married to Karla Kaye Keener. She survives of the home.
Steve was a welder and had worked at Hutchinson Mayrath, Fort Riley with the State of Kansas working on Army National Guard vehicles and most recently at KSU facilities. He owned and operated the Phillips 66 station at Randolph for three years. He enjoyed fishing, turkey and deer hunting, gardening, smoking meat, taking dune buggies to Waynoka, OK and spending time with his family. His hobby turned business was Steel Kreations.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, April Tate and Michael of Clay Center, Ashley Hoard of Manhattan and Crystal Hoard of Randolph; two stepchildren, Levi Bailey and fiance Jamie Rood of Riley and Ashley Bailey of Randolph; two granddaughters, Reika Tate of Clay Center and Jaycee Bailey of Riley; his parents, Dennis and Carolyn Hoard of Randolph; two sisters, Marsha Hernandez and Tony of Hoover, Alabama and Tricia Daniels and Abe of Benbrook, Texas; three grandmothers, Evelyn Robertson of Salina, Theresa Begnoche of Aurora and Leona Hoard of Miltonvale; mother-in-law, Pat Peterson of Riley and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Charles Hoard and Kyrl Begnoche.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Clay Center Covenant Church with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating.
A memorial has been established for the Steven Hoard Memorial Fund, to be designated by the family at a later date. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home in Riley.
