Willis R. Poppe, age 78 of Olsburg, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Stormont-Vail Health Center in Topeka.
He was born on May 8, 1940 in Belleville, the son of Fred and Emma (Peters) Poppe. He was drafted into the United States Army and was proud to serve his country.
On June 30, 1968, he was married to Helen L. Koukol and they recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. Willis was a farmer and rancher and was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Poppe of Olsburg; two sons, Curtis Poppe and wife Michelene of Denton, Nebraska and Allen Poppe and wife Shannon of Raymond, Nebraska; four special grandchildren, Gus, Colt, Tate and Ellie Laflin of Olsburg; one sister, Bernice Dutton of Chester, Nebraska and many nieces, nephews, special friends, neighbors and Flint Hills T.E.A. Party brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Alvin Poppe and Norman Poppe and two sisters, Luella Kapperman and Leora Grafelman.
Cremation is planned and the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
